From Brian Crespin:

“Through all of life’s ups and downs, we’ve always managed to give Ben the best care possible. He’s been an absolute warrior. His arthritis slows him down these days—unless a mailman passes by, then suddenly, he’s six years old again! Otherwise, he’s as healthy and full of life as ever.

Earlier this year, I noticed a concerning drop in his weight. After a visit to his vet and some bloodwork, we discovered his thyroid levels were elevated. An ultrasound revealed a small mass on his thyroid gland. In true Ben fashion, he’s a unique case—his body is producing too much of the associated hormone, which is uncommon in dogs.

The good news? After extensive testing, Ben’s doctors say he’s a strong candidate for surgery. Removing the mass could allow him to live out his normal life. The hard part? The surgery costs far more than I can afford. I’m trying to raise the funds as quickly as possible because when it comes to cancer, time isn’t on our side.”
